My name is Sulu, short for Sulakshana, which is Sanskrit for auspicious.

I am of Italian & Indian origins; if you ask me which of the two I identify more with, I will answer both, and neither. I am a fluid mix.

In my life so far, I have had the incredible opportunity to travel, to experiment with my choices and to make mistakes – all have been great teachers. I have lived across Italy, India and London, where I had the privilege to study in vibrant, multicultural institutions like the London School of Economics where I obtained a Masters. Before training as a life coach, I have worked in a variety of roles in international development, business development, communication and events. This varied professional experience has allowed me to explore different interests and passions; yet I also felt confused at times, and found it complex to answer the ever asked “What do you do” question, comfortably asserting my role in the world in a way that felt authentic.

Then, one day, I had a breakthrough. Looking at my background, my hobbies, disparate interests and dreams, I started noticing a common thread running through my life. I am passionate about development. Be it socio-political, organisational, or personal, development is fundamentally about change. I value fairness, justice and inclusiveness. I celebrate individual uniqueness in a broader context of inter-connectedness and shared humanity. At its core, development is about people – you, me, us all - in the world.

I shy away from labels and, as you might imagine, from fixed definitions of who I am. I think of myself as an eternal student, a work in progress, an ever-changing, ever learning human being.

I feel free when I dance; alive when jumping in the sea. I love to cook for the people I love. I love all creative forms of self expression. I have fun with my style. I hope to write a book some day.
